Dr Stephanie Kaye -Barrett
Dr Stephanie Barrett has been a consultant rheumatologist for over 20 years. She has gained expertise, national and international recognition for her work in pioneering repetitive magnetic stimulation (neuromodulation) for both centralised/brain mediated pain and chronic musculoskeletal pain. Dr Barrett has brought the technique, expertise and equipment to The London Clinic.
Bio
As a consultant rheumatologist with over 16 years of consultant grade experience, Dr Stephanie treats all aspects of painful rheumatology conditions including gout, neck/back pain, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis and carpal tunnel syndrome.
In addition, she has a special interest in new osteoporosis treatments particularly, with injections six monthly or yearly, as appropriate. She carried out extensive research at The Royal Free Hospital regarding scleroderma and the gastrointestinal tract. Other research projects included osteoporosis, vitamin D deficiency, gout and identification of early rheumatoid arthritis.
Dr Stephanie was appointed as a consultant physician and rheumatologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 1996 and honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College in 1997.
