Our pathology services

Pathology is an essential part of many people’s health journey – in detecting disease, diagnosing symptoms, monitoring treatment or even part of treatment itself, for example stem cell therapy.

At The London Clinic, we continually invest in state-of-the-art facilities and medical technologies to ensure our pathology services are top quality and world leading. Our dedicated laboratory team are highly skilled with access to a range of tests and everything you need for clear and accurate results.

Your doctor will arrange these tests and investigations for you if and when you need them. Our accredited and regulated pathology department includes:

All employees are bound by the Common Law Duty of Confidentiality, placing a legal duty on all staff working for the clinic to keep all information provided to the Clinic and themselves as employees of the clinic by its patients completely confidential. This legal obligation is further enforced in your contract with The London Clinic.

All staff have a legal obligation to ensure that any confidential information they come into contact with is kept secure and confidential at all times. Where a member of staff receives a request for information relating to an individual, staff must ensure that any disclosure of confidential information is fully justified and in compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 or Common Law Duty of Confidentiality.

All Pathology Services staff undertake annual mandatory Information Governance Training to ensure they are familiar with the legislation and clinic and departmental policies.

Where necessary the laboratory will have information available for patients and users that includes an explanation of the clinical procedure to be performed to enable informed consent.

We operate a 24-hour service for biochemistry, haematology and blood transfusion.

Packaging and transporting biological substances

Specimen collection

The London Clinic employs porters who collect pathology samples within The London Clinic and from consulting rooms within the Harley Street/Wimpole Street area between the hours of 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Our client services team can arrange couriers if collection is outside our local area. To request a pathology pick-up please call 020 7616 7755.

The forms may only be used by medical professionals and checks will be made on any requests from doctors not already known to The London Clinic.
