Aftercare

We understand that it’s about much more than just the treatment itself. This is why we’re committed to providing outstanding aftercare.

We offer a wide range of additional therapies to get you back on your feet.

When you’re ready to leave The London Clinic, we’ll give you advice to follow once you’re home.  When leaving the hospital make sure you have any medications you need to take, and that you’re completely clear on how and when to take them, know who to contact if you’ve
any questions or concerns, have your discharge letter and know when your next appointment is.

We’ll promise to keep in contact with you over the following weeks to ensure everything is going well.

A few weeks later, you’ll come back to the clinic for a follow-up appointment to discuss how your recovery is going with your consultant.

What The London Clinic can do

Following your treatment, we will monitor you carefully and find out how you are feeling.

Once your consultant agrees that you are well enough to leave, you will be discharged from The London Clinic. Then you’ll be able to start your recovery at home.

We usually discharge patients between 10am and 11am in the morning.

Please ask your nurse to call reception. They will arrange for one of our friendly hospital porters to help you with your belongings.

If you’re having a procedure that involves putting you to sleep (such as sedation or general anaesthetic), you’ll need to make some arrangements.

Ensure that a friend or relative can take you home by car after you wake up. They’ll need to look after you for a minimum of 24 hours after your procedure.

Nursing team

After your operation, you’ll be taken to the recovery bay where you’ll begin to wake up. Our nursing team will take regular observations of your blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate and temperature.

They’ll also provide food and drink and ask you questions about how you’re feeling. As well as, review your mobility and general progress.

When you’re fully awake, you’ll be taken back to your own private room. We’ll continue to monitor you and make sure that you’re as comfortable as possible.

You’ll have a video check-up at home with a nurse specialist where you’ll be able to ask any questions you might have.
