Concerned about skin cancer?

With skin cancer rates rising, recognising early signs is crucial. Common skin cancers are often more noticeable, while rare types may be less obvious.

  • Melanomas: Most common on normal skin (75%), melanomas typically appear as irregularly shaped, pigmented spots with rapid changes. They may progress into lumps or develop as changes in existing moles. Any new skin marks or changes in moles should prompt a professional consultation.
  • Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC): Often a slowly growing pearly or red mark, BCC may scab and bleed. The rarer morphoeic BCC resembles a hard, white scar. Suspected cases often lead to biopsy and removal.
  • Bowen’s Disease and Squamous Cell Carcinoma: Bowen's Disease, an early pre-cancerous form, appears as a red, scaly patch. Squamous cell carcinoma typically grows rapidly, with a crusty center that may bleed and cause pain. Urgent medical attention is necessary for both.

Private. Discreet. Calm.

We know that being seen for a skin issue can feel scary or intimidating. But it shouldn’t. That’s why we have dedicated staff, trained to deliver examinations and support patients with emotional concerns as a result of their condition or diagnosis.

The London Clinic’s One-stop Dermatology Clinic was designed to feel private, comfortable, and calm – a reassuring environment where our experienced consultants can take medical history and explore your symptoms with you. If treatment is required, they’ll explain what will happen during the procedure and take time to answer all your questions and address your concerns.

Your skin. Our expertise.

Whether you’re looking for help with a chronic skin condition, lump, bump or anti-ageing treatment, our private Dermatology Clinic provides first-class personalised care that puts your wellbeing at the heart of your experience with us.

We also offer treatments for benign (non-cancerous) lesions of the skin. These include moles, cysts, warts, skin tags, and lymphomas, which do not pose a risk to health. Depending on the issue our consultants may recommend excision, partial removal, freezing, laser therapy, heat treatment or scooping away the lesion.

There are around 15,400 new cases of melanoma each year and 136,000 new non-melanoma cancers in the UK alone. While most skin cancers are easily treated when caught early, if they spread, they can be very dangerous.

It is important to check your skin for new or changing growths. These early warning signs can often be identified using the ‘ABCDE’ technique – Asymmetry, irregular Borders, Colouring and changes in Diameter or Evolution.

If you notice a mole that looks different, book in to be examined by our expert dermatologists today to start your diagnostic journey.

Our cosmetic dermatology team can talk through all the available options and answer your questions about treatments that can help with skin ageing and aesthetics, as well as any reactions to previous treatments, and general skincare advice.

Eczema and Psoriasis are two of the common skin conditions which our world-class dermatologists can help with. Our experienced consultants can recommend successful therapies and medical treatments to help bring the conditions under control, including emollient, steroid and antihistamine medications and lifestyle changes.

At The London Clinic, our expert dermatologists are equipped to address a wide range of skin conditions, including benign skin problems, psoriasis, acne, eczema, and skin cancer.

A skin biopsy may be recommended if you have an unusual or concerning skin lesion, rash, or growth. Biopsy allows us to examine skin tissue under a microscope, aiding in the diagnosis of skin conditions such as skin cancer or dermatitis.

Yes, we offer same-day diagnostic services to provide you with prompt answers and peace of mind. Our dedicated dermatologists ensure efficient and accurate skin condition assessments.

We use a combination of techniques, including mole mapping to evaluate moles for signs of skin cancer. We always ensure to use advanced methods to allow for precise monitoring and early detection of any concerning changes in moles.

Benign skin problems are non-cancerous skin conditions that may include cysts, lipomas, skin tags, and more. In some cases, surgical intervention is necessary to address these issues, especially if they cause discomfort, pain, or aesthetic concerns. During the procedure, your dermatologist or surgeon will carefully remove or treat the benign skin problem. They will discuss the procedure, recovery, and potential risks with you beforehand, ensuring you have a clear understanding of what to expect.

While referrals are not mandatory, it's advisable to seek proper medical advice from your GP or dermatologist if you have skin concerns. However, you can also contact us directly to schedule a consultation with our dermatology specialists.

If you notice a mole that is Asymmetric, has an irregular Border, irregular Colour, is Different from your other moles, or has Evolved in any way, it's essential to seek immediate medical advice from a dermatologist or your GP. Early detection can be crucial for effective treatment.

Yes, you can. We have a new walk-in GP service in partnership with Doctorcall and MyHealthcare Clinic available in the Rapid Diagnostic Centre. Although you can walk in and book at our reception, we advise that you call us first on 02076167693 to ensure we can fulfil your requirements.

At your appointment the GP will order any necessary diagnostics or blood tests. You will then receive the results via phone or in-person at the clinic within 72 hours, and if needed, the GP will refer you to a consultant working at The London Clinic for further evaluation or treatment.
