Jahangir (Jay) Ahmed is a Consultant specialising in Laryngology (voice disorders), head and neck cancer and thyroid conditions. He is skilled in minimally invasive techniques such as transoral robotic, laser assisted microsurgery and advanced endoscopic sinus surgery. He has a unique interest in the surgical management of snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea.

Bio

Jahangir (Jay) Ahmed is a consultant ENT/ Head and Neck Surgeon, who practises at Barts Health and University College Hospitals NHS Trusts. He is the current lead clinician at Barts Health. 

He was educated at King's College, Cambridge University and Imperial College London, graduating with multiple awards. He also completed a PhD in molecular oncology at Barts Cancer Institute, University of London.

He has an interest in managing all types of head, neck and thyroid cancers using minimally invasive techniques such as transoral robotic, laser and advanced endoscopic sinus technologies. Using these techniques, he also boasts a unique, significant experience in the surgical management of snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea, especially for patients seeking a long term alternative to CPAP.
