Mr Peter Lion Consultant Profile
Mr Peter Lion has expertise in general adult Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) treatments and conditions, with a specialist interest in head and neck surgery including thyroid and salivary gland disorders, cancer surgery and robotic assisted surgery.
He graduated from Brighton and Sussex Medical School in 2011 and completed his higher surgical training in ENT in London. During this training period, he completed placements at prestigious units including University College London Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, The Royal Marsden Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and The Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital.
Following his specialist training, he undertook an advanced surgical fellowship at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia, for which he was awarded a Royal College of Surgeons Fellowship Award. He subsequently held a consultant position at Peter MacCallum with a focus on robotic surgery, major head and neck resection and reconstruction, before returning to the UK to a consultant post at University College London Hospital in 2024.
He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Dundee. He is the departmental postgraduate Medical Education Lead for trainee surgeons and the consultant lead for resident doctors. He is a core member of the UCLH Head & Neck and Thyroid multidisciplinary teams. He is an also an honorary consultant surgeon at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow.
