Mr Jon Palmer Consultant Profile

Mr Jonathan Palmer is a Consultant Knee Surgeon who specialises exclusively in the diagnosis and treatment of knee disorders. He practises at The London Clinic as a partner with Grosvenor Orthopaedic Partners.

His expertise covers the full range of knee conditions, from soft tissue knee injuries to degenerative arthritis. This includes joint preservation, ligament reconstruction, cartilage and meniscal surgery, and complex primary and revision knee replacement procedures. His NHS practice at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust covers both elective knee surgery and upper and lower limb trauma.

Mr Palmer graduated from the Royal Free and University College Medical School, University of London, in 2008 with a first class BSc and MBBS. He completed his Trauma and Orthopaedic specialty training in the Wessex Deanery and gained his FRCS (Tr&Orth) in 2022. During his training, he completed a research fellowship and was awarded a DPhil from the University of Oxford for his thesis, “The role of surgery in early osteoarthritis of the knee”.

He has completed two international fellowships, one in sports injury and another in lower limb arthroplasty in New Zealand. He has also visited several centres of excellence for knee surgery across Europe.

Mr Palmer provides expert, patient-focused care and combines clinical excellence with the latest surgical techniques to help patients regain movement and quality of life. He encourages patients to take an active role in their care and believes the best outcomes come from open communication and shared decision-making.
