Mr Avi Kulkarni is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon, specialising in glaucoma laser treatments, cataract surgery, and glaucoma surgery, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).
Bio
Mr Kulkarni is an NHS consultant ophthalmic surgeon and the lead glaucoma consultant at King’s College Hospital in London.
Mr Kulkarni provides care for a wide range of general ophthalmic conditions including, acute complaints such as red eye, eye pain and reduced vision, as well as undertaking bespoke cataract surgery. He offers a comprehensive glaucoma service, including glaucoma screening, glaucoma monitoring, glaucoma Laser treatments, and advanced, cutting edge glaucoma surgery.
After training in ophthalmology in London, Mr Kulkarni subspecialised in the management of glaucoma and complex, glaucoma-related cataract surgery during clinical glaucoma fellowships at King’s College & St. Thomas’s Hospitals, and Moorfields Eye Hospital.
Mr Kulkarni teaches and trains medical and optometry students, optometrists, orthoptists and junior ophthalmologists. He has given national and international lectures and provides clinical mentorship and educational supervision for junior ophthalmologists.
