Bio

Mr Giordano is a Consultant Surgeon and Pelvic Floor Clinical Lead at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London. His specialist interests are colorectal surgery, advance laparoscopic surgery, bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor disorders, faecal incontinence, constipation, rectal prolapse, haemorrhoids, anal fistula, anal fissure, inguinal hernia, complex abdominal wall hernia and gallstones.

Over the years Mr Giordano has introduced many pioneering procedures that have become widely accepted and for which he is one of the leading experts worldwide. These include the THD procedures for haemorrhoids, collagen paste injection for anal fistula, biologic material for complex hernia repair, artificial bowel implants for faecal incontinence.

Mr Giordano has built a strong international reputation, produced numerous scientific papers, and given many invited lectures and live surgical demonstrations around the world. With his research and publications Mr Giordano has contributed to some of the most recent advancements in the field of colorectal surgery and provided scientific evidence to for NICE guidelines.
