A clear pathway from day one

I joined The London Clinic in 2023 as a Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist, after years of bedside nursing experience in transplant at another private hospital. What made the biggest impression on me was that my career pathway was already outlined during my interview. From day one, I knew how I could develop here. I was offered the chance to complete a stem cell transplant course and given the support I needed to step confidently into the CNS role.

The support I have received since joining has been incredible. My managers really listen, and when I raise queries or ideas, they are taken seriously and acted upon. That makes me feel respected and valued, and it has helped me grow both personally and professionally.

A focus on standards

I also appreciate the way our department is structured. We follow JACIE standards closely. In my role as a CNS, I support and guide my colleagues in the transplant unit to deliver a high standard of haematology nursing practice. This not only ensures the highest level of care but also helps me develop my own skills in a safe and focused environment.

Excellent nursing is more than clinical skill. It's presence, compassion and attentiveness. Noticing changes, listening fully and communicating kindly.

My development has always been a priority

For me, the best thing about working at The London Clinic is knowing that my development has been a priority right from the start. Having a clear pathway and the encouragement to take each step forward has given me real confidence about my future.
