John Bulter was was educated at St Mary's Hospital Medical School (Imperial College). He qualified in 2000 and was trained as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist in North West London including registrar posts at Queen Charlotte's, Chelsea and Westminster, Hillingdon, Northwick Park, and the Royal Marsden Hospitals. He has taken time out of clinical training for research and was also appointed as a clinical advisor to the Chief Medical Officer in 2009.
During his training he developed a major interest in gynaecological cancers and complex pelvic surgery and after his specialist training completed his sub-specialist training in gynaecological oncology at St Bartholomew's and the Royal Marsden Hospitals including a short period in Toronto.
He is active in research and regularly lectures nationally and internationally, and is the author of numerous scientific publications.
