Bio
Dr Vasiliki Kolovou is a Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes, with a particular focus on pituitary tumours, thyroid and parathyroid disease, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and adrenal gland disorders.
Vasiliki has experience in treating complex diabetes, endocrine and general medicine patients and has a keen interest in the application of the latest available novel systems and technology in the management and monitoring of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, and the management of patients with obesity. She has experience in in-patient diabetes, diabetes foot, insulin pumps, patients with renal impairment or on renal dialysis and ante-natal diabetes.
Currently, she is the responsible Diabetologist and leads the Cystic Fibrosis Diabetes service at King’s College NHS Trust, for all patients with Cystic Fibrosis from South London and Southeast of England. Efficient and appropriate patient care is at the heart of her working life and how she manages her patients.
Vasiliki completed her initial medical training in Greece before embarking on and completing her postgraduate medical training at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, London.
She holds an appointment as a Senior Researcher at the Medical Technology Group of London School of Economics, where she is pursuing her research interests in diabetes and obesity policy in the context of population health management.
