Dr Tavakkoli has huge experience in managing patients with refractory pain, often of pelvic or spinal origin and undertakes pain procedures including spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve and sacral nerve stimulation.
Bio
Dr Tavakkoli is a consultant in anaesthesia, pain medicine and neuromodulation. He has been a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists since 2009 and Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine since 2014.
He completed a fellowship at University of Toronto, Canada as well as completing advanced pain training in London.
He has extensively published and presented at international conferences on pain medicine and neuromodulation.
His current research is on the effects of different frequencies in achieving pain relief and also the long-term effects of such treatments and he has contributed to a seminal clinical trial in this domain.

Main conditions treated include failed back surgery syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome, pain after amputation and plexopathies and post-stroke pain.
