Dr Christopher Primus consultant profile
Dr Christopher Primus is a consultant cardiologist at The London Clinic with NHS practice at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and University College London Hospital, having trained in Medicine and Cardiology across North East and North Central London.
He has expertise in the diagnosis, investigation, and treatment of all forms of cardiac disease, offering the opportunity for rapid clinical assessment and discussion of treatment options. Trained in all forms of cardiac imaging, he is well placed to consider treatment options, from lifestyle advice through medications, to interventional procedures.
He is an expert in the care of people struggling with breathlessness due to all forms of heart disease, with a particular focus in heart failure, heart muscle disease (cardiomyopathy) and valve disease due to cardiac infection.
Dr Primus trained at Imperial College London, where he graduated with first class honours and Distinction in clinical practice. He gained his post-graduate diploma as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2012 and was awarded his Doctorate in Cardiovascular Pharmacology from University of London in 2022. He is currently the Clinical Lead for Heart Failure at UCLH.
