Why choose The London Clinic

Over our 90 years, we've had a number of firsts. We're proud of the fact that we're at the leading edge of care, looking for the next innovation to provide ever-better outcomes for our patients.

We invest in state-of-the-art facilities and medical technologies, so we can offer ground-breaking treatments in specialist treatment units. These multi-accredited treatment centres are at the heart of The London Clinic.

Below are just some of the conditions and treatments we offer.

Cataract surgery

We provide a private cataract surgery treatment using the most advanced intraocular lens implant (IOL) technology available. Our team of world-class consultants and ophthalmic nurses are passionate about your health, offering you a more connected, compassionate kind of care. Our world-renowned eye specialists and ophthalmologist-trained nurses will work with you every step of the way, from pre-admission right through to aftercare and follow up.

Vitreo-retinal surgery

Our specialist team at The London Clinic perform vitreo-retinal surgery to treat any eye-related issues that involve the retina, macula and vitreous fluid. Otherwise known as vitrectomy, this typically includes conditions like retinal detachment, epiretinal membrane, macular hole, secondary lens surgery and any complications caused by diabetic retinopathy.

Diabetic eye disease

If you develop the early stages of diabetic retinopathy, the most helpful treatment is to get your diabetes under tighter control, rather than to treat your eyes directly. However, if abnormal blood vessels start to develop in the retina, or there is a risk of bleeding, you may then need laser treatment or injections.

Corneal transplants

We offer several different types of corneal transplantation techniques including all methods that involve lamellar or partial thickness keratoplasty. The lamellar techniques have the added advantage of faster visual recovery and a much lower risk of rejection. Whereas, the corneal transplant method used will depend on the underlying disease process. Call us today to book an appointment.

Medical and surgical retina service

At The London Clinic’s medical retina service, our first-class ophthalmology consultants are experts in conditions that affect the back of the eye. We use state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies to assess your eye health and identify problems, so we can develop the best care plan for your needs from our comprehensive range of treatment options.

Eye cancer treatment

Ocular or eye cancer is relatively uncommon with around 500 cases being diagnosed in the UK every year. Early diagnosis and quick, effective management by a specialist team can offer the best chance of a cure. The London Clinic offers a range of tests to detect eye cancer quickly and efficiently. The high-tech imaging facilities will help your specialist diagnose and stage your cancer so that you can be given the very best treatment.
