Mr Michail Sideris Consultant Profile

Michail Sideris is a highly experienced Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist and academic with a strong clinical and research profile in women’s cancer care. His clinical expertise encompasses the surgical management of complex gynaecological malignancies, and he is deeply involved in advancing oncological care through evidence-based practice.

He is highly skilled in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery for both benign conditions, including ovarian cysts and endometriosis, and malignant gynaecological diseases. He is also an experienced colposcopist and general gynaecologist.

His clinical interests include familial cancers, fertility-sparing surgery for gynaecological malignancies, and complex pelvic exenterative surgery. He remains actively involved in research, with a strong and evolving academic portfolio.

He serves as a Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist at Barts Health NHS Trust (including The Royal London Hospital) and holds an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer position at Queen Mary University of London.

Mr Sideris completed rigorous academic and clinical training, including double qualification (MDRes and PhD) Doctor of Philosophy and Medicine focused on molecular oncology and Surgical education. He has completed advanced subspecialty training in gynaecological oncology at The Royal London Hospital, one of the most advance cancer tertiary centres in the UK. He has contributed to the scientific literature with numerous peer-reviewed publications and is widely cited by his peers, reflecting his involvement in both clinical research and multidisciplinary cancer studies.

His work includes collaborative research on the impact of healthcare challenges on gynaecological cancer services and broader efforts in cancer prevention, screening and precision oncology. Mr Sideris also engages in academic mentoring and education, supporting the next generation of clinician-scientists.
