Way to go! Staff and patients successfully complete the London Marathon

5 May 2026

Staff, patients and families from The London Clinic took on the 2026 London Marathon together, raising vital funds for Anthony Nolan, Myeloma UK, Leukaemia UK and breast cancer charities. A day of grit, heart and shared purpose for our community.

The London Clinic staff, patients and families gathered together in running gear before the 2026 London Marathon.

At The London Clinic, we were especially proud to see colleagues, patients and patient families taking part in the 2026 London Marathon, supported every step of the way by our Haematology and Oncology teams.

It was a particularly meaningful day for our cancer nursing team who stood alongside Myeloma UK to support Gareth and others taking part. The charity also shared an official marathon video on social media featuring our team, marking a proud moment for everyone involved.

The London Clinic’s Haematology Clinical Fellow, Dr Joel McCay took part in support of Anthony Nolan. Joel’s work brings him into close contact with patients who need stem cell transplants, making the cause deeply personal. He said:

The work Anthony Nolan do for patients requiring stem cell transplant is something I see every day. It’s invaluable. The money I’m aiming to raise helps support donors and ultimately recipients of stem cell transplants. I’m lucky enough to be running this year for Anthony Nolan alongside a patient and her family, whom I had the privilege of caring for during her transplant last year.

That patient, Alice, had her stem cell transplant just 11 months ago. This year, she ran the marathon alongside Joel, her sister and donor Kate, and her husband Hayden. Together, they raised funds for Leukaemia UK and Anthony Nolan, turning a deeply personal journey into an act of hope for others.

We are also incredibly proud of Rosa Loc, one of our physiotherapists, who ran to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer. Rosa said:

I’m fundraising in honour of the incredible strength shown by those bravely battling breast cancer every day.
