The physiotherapy team at The London Clinic
The Physiotherapy department at The London Clinic is based on the sixth floor of the main hospital at 20 Devonshire Place.
Our specialist team offer a range of acquatic therapy, osteopathy, physiotherapy, and strength and conditioning training interventions to both inpatients and outpatients.
Management team
Carley Gee - Head of Therapies

Carley came to The London Clinic in 2010 after working in the NHS in three Foundation Trusts across the country. She has a wide range of experience and postgraduate training across the inpatient physiotherapy setting and specialises in the field of oncology.
Carley has a keen interest in neurology but today holds a large non clinical list. Carley is keen to see the department continue to grow and develop and supports all areas of service in times of need.
Alasdair Jones - Deputy Physiotherapy Manager
Alasdair joined the London Clinic in February 2019 and is a senior physiotherapist who qualified in 1998 in Aberdeen with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy. He spent four years working in the NHS before starting in an established private practice with a wide range of musculoskeletal Outpatients in 2002.
He has since worked extensively with pioneering back and neck pain services which focused on pain control, strengthening, and achieving a better quality of life for the patient.
He has also worked with elite athletes from numerous sporting backgrounds dedicated to injury prevention/reduction and advanced rehabilitation, including skiers, tennis players, golfers and rugby teams both at home and abroad during international tournaments.
Alasdair is passionate about ensuring his patients benefit from the latest research in Physiotherapy, and is currently exploring the latest ideas in tendon injury after completing training in Australia with Dr Pete Malliaras on Tendinopathy and tendon recovery.
Luke Richardson - Deputy Physiotherapy Manager

Luke qualified at the University of East London and has worked in both the NHS and private sectors. He is the Lead In-patient Physiotherapist having specialised in respiratory physiotherapy, working on the Intensive Care Unit, colorectal and surgical floors.
Luke has undertaken post-graduate studies in the field of respiratory physiotherapy. He has a clinical interest in optimising patient’s respiratory function prior to surgery and the rehabilitation of critically ill patients.
As one of our team leads, Luke is passionate about developing our patient services and our team members.

Rene Maree - Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner

Rene has a special interest in respiratory physiotherapy and worked in respiratory care both in the NHS and private sector.
Rene completed a Care of the Respiratory Patient post-graduate module at the University of Surrey and is experienced in the treatment of clients with breathing pattern disorders and long-term respiratory conditions.
Kate Bazin - Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner

Kate Bazin has specialised in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy since 2005. She has worked across the spectrum of acute care and early critical care rehabilitation to respiratory outpatient clinics within NHS London Trusts and private hospitals.
Kate completed an MSc in Advanced Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy at UCL in 2009. Kate has developed a keen interest in the management of Breathing Pattern Disorders and is passionate about supporting clinicians to develop their knowledge and skills in this area. She joined the Physiotherapy for Breathing Pattern Disorders committee in 2009 and has delivered numerous face to face and online courses to Physiotherapists across the UK.
Kate joined the Physiotherapy team at The London Clinic in 2020. Kate also works as a Lecturer in Physiotherapy Education at King’s College London on the BSc and pre-registration MSc Physiotherapy Programmes and has been in post at KCL since 2013.

Ruth Ashton - Lead Outpatient Physiotherapist

Ruth joined the London Clinic in 2010. She has over 15 years of experience working at various NHS trusts in and around London and in the private sector. Ruth enjoys treating lower limb injuries and spinal and pelvic girdle pain.
She completed an MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine in 2013 and has post graduate training in acupuncture, Pilates, Women’s Health and aquatic therapy.
Ruth operates a split post working both in management and covering a clinical caseload.
Federico Febbraro - Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist

Federico offers holistic and hands-on treatments, supporting the self-healing ability of the body with a unique blend of manual treatments, acupuncture and exercise rehabilitation. He specialises in lower limb (knee and hip) rehabilitation for conservative and post-surgical management, manual therapy and exercise rehabilitation applied to the spine temporo-mandibular joint.
He has extensive experience working in the NHS and private sector - this includes working internationally and at premiership football clubs. His specialist areas are shoulder and back pain, tendinopathies, post-surgical rehabilitation and strength and conditioning.
He has continued to develop his specialist skills and gained post graduate qualifications in Pilates, Acupuncture, Manipulative therapy and Strength and Conditioning.
Daniel Bainton - Senior Physiotherapist and Shockwave practitioner

Danny completed his physiotherapy training in London and has extensive experience working in the NHS and private sector - this includes working internationally and at premiership football clubs.
His specialist areas are shoulder and back pain, tendinopathies, post-surgical rehabilitation and strength and conditioning.
He has continued to develop his specialist skills and gained post graduate qualifications in Pilates, Acupuncture, Manipulative therapy and Strength and Conditioning.
Marta De Oliveira - Senior Physiotherapist (Women’s Health, Men’s Health and Pelvic Health)

Marta qualified as a physiotherapist in Portugal in 2009 and she worked as an MSK and sports physiotherapist in the early years of her professional career. She then moved to the UK to continue her studies and professional development.
She has since done extensive training in Women's Health physiotherapy and she is a member of the POGP (Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy) Network. She completed a post-graduate Diploma in Women's Health Physiotherapy at the University of Bradford and is currently finishing the MSc in this field.
Marta is qualified to help patient's suffering from chronic pelvic pain as well as pelvic floor problems affecting the bladder and bowels, and problems contributing to painful sex. She is also qualified to help women with prolapse and to support women during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and menopause.
Her goal is not only to empower patients and facilitate their journeys recovering and improving their pelvic health, but also to provide a service of excellence in women's and men's health.
Rochelle Francois - Senior MSK, Upper Limb and Hand Physiotherapist

Rochelle started at The London Clinic in the summer of 2018. She completed her training at Oxford Brookes University and since then worked in well-renowned NHS hospitals and private clinics, where she went on to specialise in the field of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
She has since then taken a particular interest in the shoulder, elbow and hand (upper limb), where she has gained experience working in a busy shoulder & elbow unit. She has also passed her British Association of Hand Therapists (BAHT) training in specialist hand therapy.
Rochelle receives direct referrals from upper limb consultants and can provide early post-operative care as well as long-term rehabilitation to help patients reach their goals. She is also trained in making bespoke hand, forearm and finger splints for a range of conditions and following surgery.

Davide Lanfranco - Senior Physiotherapist

Davide is a senior physiotherapist who graduated in Genoa, Italy, with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and where he also gained his MSc degree in Osteopathy.
After working in Italy and Poland he moved to London in 2016 where he has worked in the most renowned private hospitals, dealing with a vast range of simple and complex musculoskeletal conditions. This has included post-surgical rehabilitation of professional athletes and rehabilitation after breast cancer surgery.
Alongside Physiotherapy Davide is also a Clinical Hypnotherapist specialising in persistent pain management.
He creates bespoke treatment sessions using different approaches including mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Hypnotherapy, as well as therapeutic exercise therapy. When combining his extensive skills from years of study and experience, these allow him to support people in a most comprehensive and effective way both in person and via remote consultations.
Caroline Jones - Senior Physiotherapist
Caroline graduated from the Manchester Metropolitan University in 2013, working in two of London’s largest NHS Foundation Trusts, and within the private sector, prior to joining The London Clinic.
She has a wide range of experience, with her area of interest being musculoskeletal and orthopaedic, specifically the lower limb. She has recently joined the Aquatic Therapy Association for Chartered Physiotherapists and enjoys treating a variety of patients within the aquatic therapy pool.
Fiona Parker - Senior Physiotherapist

Fiona is a senior MSK Physiotherapist with a keen interest in lower limb injury particularly the foot and ankle. Fiona trained and graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a first class degree in Physiotherapy.
She has gained extensive NHS experience as well as private sector, including working with elite sporting athletes including members of the GB Polo Team.
Inpatients
Kirsty Westwood - Senior Physiotherapist

After graduating from Salford University College in 1994, Kirsty gained experience in a variety of clinical specialities before moving to a more senior role in respiratory and neurological physiotherapy and then focusing on Intensive Care & Surgery.
Following a research study, Kirsty was promoted to Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Intensive Care & Surgery and took on a variety of different roles; tracheostomy care, the introduction of new methods of ventilation and clinical and student education.
Following this, Kirsty moved to a private hospital as the lead Physiotherapist for Intensive Care before moving to London and joining The London Clinic in June 2017. Here at The Clinic, Kirsty’s role includes working as part of a team on Intensive Care and leading physiotherapy intervention with patients undergoing breast and urological surgery.
Her interests include the topic of Human Factors, which investigates the complexities of team-working, communication and situational awareness in the clinical setting.
Charlotte Church - Senior Physiotherapist

Charlotte graduated in Brussels with a Bsc and Msc, prior to moving to London and joining The London Clinic in 2016. She speaks English, French, Dutch and has good Arabic language skills from her classes at King’s College London.
Charlotte works within the surgical physiotherapy team and has an interest in the care and management of head and neck patients.
She also enjoys working with patients with respiratory conditions and to provide rehabilitation to those following intensive care stays.
Helen Cole - Senior Physiotherapist
Helen is based on the orthopaedic and neurosciences floors as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
She has many years of experience in the clinical setting and also acts as a resource for other multi-disciplinary colleagues via education, training, specialist knowledge and advice.
Lisa Cullum - Senior Physiotherapist

Lisa qualified at the Witwatersrand University in South Africa. She has worked in South Africa and the UK in both the NHS and private sectors.
She joined the London Clinic in 2014 and specialises in the area of Orthopaedics and Aquatic Therapy, assessing and treating patients with a wide variety of conditions.
Lisa is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, Aquatic Therapy Association and the Association of Trauma and Orthopaedic Chartered Physiotherapists.
