Mr Oussama Elhage
Mr Elhage has a special interest and state-of-the-art training in the treatment of benign prostate conditions. His treatments include: prostate artery embolisation; trans-urethral resection of the prostate; Urolift; water vapour ablation of the prostate (Rezum); water jet treatment (Aquablation therapy) and holmium laser enucleation for the greatly enlarged prostate (HoLEP).
Bio
Oussama Elhage is a consultant urological surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. He completed his urological training in London and joined the leading urology team at Guy's Hospital providing advanced prostate cancer services. During his team there he introduced the revolutionary technique of “free hand” transperineal prostate biopsy in an outpatient setting.
He’s highly skilled in the precision diagnostics used in prostate cancer evaluation - transperineal prostate biopsies, free hand prostate biopsy under sedation or local anaesthesia, targeted and MRI-ultrasound fusion prostate biopsies.
Oussama practises using an efficient “one stop/single visit” diagnostic model in the investigation of urological complaints.
He also provides a prostate brachytherapy service alongside radiation oncology colleagues - another minimally invasive treatment option for localised prostate cancer.
