Bio

Mr Arfan Malhi undertook sub-specialty training in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty during a near year long fellowship at the University of Manitoba Joint Replacement Group in Canada.

His Consultant career started at University College Hospital London in late 2011 before he was asked to join the team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. There he very soon established a busy practice in Hip and Knee arthroplasty with a sub specialty interest in revision surgery whilst maintaining a trauma practice.

He joined Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in 2018 in line with the trend for centralisation of complex and revision hip and knee arthroplasty. There he receives regional referrals for both complex primary and revision (re-do) Hip and Knee arthroplasty. He also maintains a busy trauma practice at St Thomas’ Hospital managing acute trauma through the Emergency Department as well as taking regional referrals for complex peri-prosthetic hip and knee fractures. (Fractures around joint replacements).

Mr Malhi is also actively involved in the education of future doctors and surgeons from medical students up to senior Orthopaedic trainees. He is recognised by the GMC as a trainer. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at GKT School of Medicine. (Guys, King’s and St Thomas’).

Mr Malhi has two sons who keep him busy with Cricket and Footballing activities.
He enjoys cycling and also plays badminton. In the rest of his spare time he maintains his classic car collection.
