The London Clinic recognised as "inclusive" employer

27 Sep 2019

The London Clinic is the first and only independent hospital to receive a National Inclusion Standard.

The London Clinic is the first and only independent hospital to receive a National Inclusion Standard, joining a broad range of organisations from other sectors to receive it.

The National Inclusion Standard was launched last year by Inclusive Employers to support organisations to assess progress with their inclusion journey and award those meeting the National Inclusion Standard with accreditation.

Geoff Cox, HR & Operations Director, says: “We are proud to be recognised as an inclusive workplace and be awarded our first National Inclusion Standard.

"Our team members come from 34 different countries and deliver high-quality care in our hospital to people from all over the world.

"To do this, our team has to successfully respect each other’s diversity and embed an inclusive culture within our organisation.

“The leadership team at The London Clinic are committed to taking an honest view and encouraging diversity and inclusion in all activities.

"We have just celebrated our second National Inclusion Week, with a wide variety of activities for our team members to take part in, including a deaf awareness seminar, a focus group about supporting women to apply for promotions, celebrating black history in healthcare and an informative session about gender identity."

“I enjoyed telling The London Clinic’s inclusion story at the awards ceremony," says Jag Chohan, Senior HR Business Partner at The London Clinic.

“Pioneering is one of The London Clinic’s three core values so it’s fantastic that we are trail blazing as the first independent hospital to achieve this award."

"We are committed to building on the progress of National Inclusion Week and this award through linking inclusion and diversity to our organisation’s objectives,” she adds.

Richard McKenna, MD of Inclusive Employers, organisers of the National Inclusion Standard, says: “Many congratulations to all who took part and demonstrated their commitment.

"Organisations are at different stages in their inclusion maturity and our aim is to support all of them to become more inclusive and reap the commercial benefits of inclusion.”
