We’re thrilled to announce that Professor Hemant Kocher, Clinical Research Lead of The London Clinic Research Centre, has been awarded the Jeremy Jass Prize for Research Excellence in Pathology.

Professor Kocher

Professor Kocher has been commemorated as part of a group of international scientists for a collaborative research study exploring scar tissue in human pancreatic cancer.

The award-winning research paper reveals important findings in pancreatic cancer that will help to support clinicians, and ensure patients can receive the best in tailored treatments.

Awarded to Professor Kocher and the wider research team by The Journal of Pathology, the annual prize is given in memory of the late Professor Jeremy Jass, a renowned scientist and gastrointestinal pathologist, to recognise excellence in and contributions to science.

As a Consultant General and Liver and Pancreas Surgeon at The London Clinic, Professor Kocher's clinical interests include caring for and operating on patients with diseases of the gallbladder and bile duct, the liver and the pancreas.

He also heads up vital clinical work at The London Clinic Research Centre. Launched in 2011, this centre is responsible for the management and conduct of clinical trials and other forms of research relating to oncology, orthopaedics and gastroenterology. Its aim is to provide innovative treatment choices to our patients and to enable access to novel therapies that may not be available elsewhere.

We extend Professor Kocher and the other recipients of this excellent prize our warmest congratulations.
