Neil Kitchen and Tipu Aziz

Professor Tipu Aziz, Consultant Neurosurgeon (pictured above, right), has received a prestigious award from the Society of British Neurological Surgeons (SBNS) in recognition of his contributions to British Neurosurgery.

The SBNS was founded in 1926 and is the professional body for neurosurgeons that helps to share best practice and knowledge within the specialism for the benefit of patients.

The SBNS medal was presented to Professor Aziz by SBNS president Neil Kitchen at the Principal Hotel in Manchester on Thursday 21 March. 

Professor Aziz, said: “I feel honoured that I have been elected to receive the medal for a lifetime's work in neurosurgery. Particularly, since I am the first to be so awarded who is still in practice."
