The London Clinic, a private hospital and charity, is supporting people undergoing treatment for cancer by providing them with the blue "Please offer me a seat" badge, and accompanying card, for use on the London underground.

Transport for London (TfL) started providing these badges for passengers after a successful trial of 1,200 people. During the trial, 72% of journeys were said to be easier as a result of the badge, while in 86% of trips participants reported feeling more confident when asking for a seat.

“Being diagnosed and treated for cancer is a very worrying time, bringing all sorts of challenges outside of hospital care,” says Lina Patel, Interim-Director of Cancer Services at The London Clinic.

“Giving these badges to our patients is another way we can demonstrate our compassionate care by supporting them. This is a small part of The London Clinic’s cancer care pathway, a unique journey for patients including providing specialist clinical care and extra free complementary services.”
