The London Clinic, a private hospital and charity, will be the first hospital in the UK to offer patients advanced diagnostic scanning with the new, state-of-the-art, Siemens MAGNETOM Vida 3T MRI scanner

The London Clinic’s multi-million pound investment in the 3T MRI scanner will offer clinical specialists and patients exceptional quality MRI imaging, supporting speciality areas such as orthopaedics, oncology, urology and neurology. The new scanner is available for appointments from Friday 14th September.

The scanner was lifted above buildings in Harley Street on Saturday 14 July through the atrium roof of the hospital’s award-winning cancer centre into the basement, three levels below the ground floor.

“We are proud that The London Clinic is the first hospital in the UK to offer our clinical specialists and patients access the new Siemens 3T MRI scanner,” says Sophie Auld, Interim-Director of Clinical Services at The London Clinic.

“Our multi-million pound investment provides more appointments and comfort for patients and is a key part of strategy to support our consultants in accurate diagnosis to deliver the best health outcomes for patients. The crane installation in central London was a spectacle in the skyline and expertly managed by the project team.”

"This is an exciting time for The London Clinic," said Alistair Piggot, MR Business Manager of Siemens Healthineers.

"We are delighted that The London Clinic chose the MAGNETOM Vida, the first 3T MRI scanner with BioMatrix Technology designed with revolutionary features to serve the increasing demands in high-end clinical imaging and clinical research.  With patient experience firmly at its core, the MAGNETOM Vida will enable The London Clinic to push and redefine the limits of what is possible in diagnostic imaging."

Appointments for the 3T MRI facility are available from Friday 14th September, please telephone +44 (0)207 616 7693.
