We are delighted to announce that The London Clinic has won the prestigious award for ‘Best use of technology in medical travel’, presented by the International Medical Travel Journal (IMTJ) for our new digital service ‘Connect’. It’s wonderful to have our work recognised in this way.

“Good application of telemedicine and teleconsultation services” says the IMTJ Medical Travel Awards Judge.

As the UK's largest independent charitable hospital, it is our mission to advance healthcare for the benefit of the global community. Accessibility is key to our patients feeling completely secure in their hospital care and therefore, in the beginning of June we launched ‘Connect by The London Clinic’.

This entirely new digital healthcare service, hosted by Trustedoctor, enables our patients to connect with world-class consultants, therapists and healthcare professionals from the comfort of their own homes – across the globe.

The platform provides video consultations, second medical opinions and virtual care services for corporate sponsors and embassy clients including with expert panels and follow-up appointments. Interpreters and family members are welcome to take part.

The technology empowers us to provide a comprehensive end-to-end patient pathway with digital medical records, imaging, collaboration features, video consultation with on-screen annotation, messages, scheduling, billing and reports. The platform enables The London Clinic to provide a virtual care service (24/7) to support the needs of our patients.

At The London Clinic, the patient is at the heart of all we do. Being able to provide access to a digitised network of our medical experts is fundamental. Now more than ever, during these challenging times, making healthcare more accessible is crucial. We are delighted that Connect has been recognised with this IMTJ award, for the progressive development of our digital healthcare strategy. 

Mark Hawken, Commercial Director says: “The demand for digital consultations escalated during the COVID 19 crisis and The London Clinic is delighted to be recognised for the work they have done in setting up a safe and secure system that currently has over 90 consultants and 25 therapy staff able to undertake remote consultations.

"Since the implementation in June over 1,000 consultations have taken place on our Connect platform. Digital consultations are here to stay and put the patient in charge of the when, where and how.
