The London Clinic - Mr John Butler

Mr John Butler, Consultant Gynaecological Surgeon at The London Clinic and Cancer Research UK's clinical adviser, has been interviewed by Sky News about new statistics that show that while cancer survival in the UK is improving, it’s still behind other high-income countries.

“For lung, ovarian, and oesophageal cancer in particular, survival has increased largely because the quality of surgery has radically improved, and more surgery is taking place than before,” says Mr Butler.

“More people are being looked after by specialist teams, rather than surgeons who aren't experts in that area,” he adds.
