Bio

Mr Siva holds dual qualifications in Neurosurgery and Complex Spine surgery, culminating in his appointment as a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Complex Spine surgeon at a Major Neurosurgery and Supra-regional Spine Centre in London. He is passionate about pursuing a holistic approach to the spine and one of few surgeons holding both Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery Complex Spine Fellowships from national centres of excellence.

Mr Siva’s busy practice is built on providing subspecialist spine expertise, receiving tertiary referrals from other spine surgeons and neurosurgeons such as challenging cervical surgeries, failed/revision cases, cancer, and adult scoliosis surgery. He and his colleagues developed UK’s first oligometastatic spine cancer unit in collaboration with oncologists at the Royal Marsden Hospital. Mr Siva has established the Southwest London Regional Spine Fracture service and currently developing a Regional Endoscopic Spine Surgery Centre at the Atkinson Morley Neurosurgery Unit, St George’s University Hospital. He is also the Clinical Director for the Southwest London Spine Network.

Mr Siva’s general (brain) surgery practice includes managing head injuries, benign cerebral/vascular lesions, hydrocephalus as well as trapped peripheral nerve disorders such as carpal tunnel syndrome. He is part of the on-call service providing brain and spine emergencies in Southwest London, covering a population of 3 million.

Mr Siva grew up in London, achieving an unconditional offer to read Medicine and Neurosciences at Imperial College London, where he was awarded the Sir Palmer Scholarship for outstanding performance. He did his postgraduate medical training at Imperial College and St George’s University NHS trusts, before being selected onto the National Neurosurgery Training programme for specialist training. He completed his training in prestigious neurosurgical centres including the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, Atkinson Morley Neurosciences Centre, St George’s and King’s College Hospital, London.

Once a qualified neurosurgeon, he pursued dual subspecialist Fellowships in both Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery Complex Spine surgery. The first Fellowship developed subspecialist expertise in metastatic cancer and trauma surgery at a supra-regional cancer and Major Trauma Centre; the second, superspecialist training in minimally-invasive/keyhole, computer-navigated and robotic-assisted techniques for adult deformity and primary tumour/sarcoma surgery at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
