Mr Jimmy Uddin is a highly experienced and qualified ophthalmologist, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the ocular adnexal (Oculoplastic, orbital & lacrimal) structures surrounding the eye, including eyelid tumours, ptosis, facial palsy, cosmetic surgery, orbital tumours and trauma reconstruction, as well as lacrimal disorders and thyroid eye disease.

Mr Uddin is a globally-acclaimed senior consultant ophthalmologist and surgeon. With over 25 years of experience, he has dedicated his career to diagnosing and treating a broad spectrum of eye conditions and diseases with exceptional precision and care.
Mr Uddin is a leading expert in oculoplastic surgery, specialising in conditions affecting the eyelids, face, and surrounding tissues (orbital). He also treats diseases of the tear ducts (lacrimal disorders) and manages both common and complex cases with expertise and compassion.
With over 20 years of experience in thyroid eye disease, Mr Uddin is recognised as one of the foremost experts in the field. He leads the TED Clinic at Moorfields Eye Hospital, where over 5,000 patients have been successfully treated under his guidance. In the past decade alone, he has performed more than 500 orbital decompression procedures, solidifying his reputation as a skilled and innovative surgeon.
Mr Uddin is deeply committed to advancing knowledge and improving outcomes for TED patients. He is a founding member and former President of the International Thyroid Eye Disease Society (ITEDS), an original member of the award-winning TEAMed working group, and a past chairman of TEDct. Through these roles, he has championed education, research, and patient support on a global scale.

Mr Uddin was an original member of award-winning Thyroid Eye Disease Amsterdam Declaration Implementation Group UK (TEAMeD). The original working group established in 2009 - BTF and TEDct - was joined by representatives of professional organisations in 2010: the Royal College of Physicians, the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, the Scottish Ophthalmologists Club, the Society for Endocrinology, the British OculoPlastic Surgery Society, the British Thyroid Association, the British and Irish Orthoptic Society in 2017, and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2019.
The Thyroid Eye Disease Amsterdam Declaration Implementation Group (TEAMeD), formed in 2010, received the Judges’ Special Award on 3 December 2015, at the prestigious Bayer Ophthalmology Awards ceremony held in London.
