Melanie Powell is a clinical oncologist with a particular interest in the management of gynaecological and head and neck cancers and the radiotherapy treatment of haematological and skin malignancy.

Bio

Melanie Powell is a clinical oncologist with a particular interest in the management of gynaecological and head and neck cancers and the radiotherapy treatment of haematological and skin malignancy.

After qualifying from the Royal Free Hospital, she specialised in clinical oncology; training at The Royal Marsden, Mount Vernon and Middlesex Hospitals.

She spent three years as a research fellow at Mount Vernon Hospital studying blood flow and oxygenation of tumours.
She is now based at St Bartholomew's Hospital teaching both medical students and clinical oncology trainees. She is actively involved in research and holds two CRUK grants for clinical studies.

She is a member of two of the National Cancer Research Institute's specialist committees; the Gynaecolgical Cancer group and Radiotherapy Group.
