Bio

Dr Amen Sibtainspecialises in the treatment of Gastrointestinal, Hepatobiliary and Head and Neck cancers.
He has particular expertise in chemoradiotherapy, new radiotherapy techniques, including Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy, Gamma Knife Radiosurgery and is an early adopter of the CyberKnife.

Dr Sibtain worked at the Royal Marsden, Mount Vernon and The Middlesex hospitals before he was appointed to Barts.

He was awarded his MD degree from the University of London for research in tumour hypoxia. He is a past President of the Oncology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine, an examiner in oncology for the Royal College of Radiologists andoncology advisor for BBC Drama.

He is a member of the medical advisory panel for Cancer Backup, Programme Director for Clinical Oncology Specialist Training Committee for the London Deanery, Chairman of the Head and Neck Tumour Board for North East London, and the Clinical Lead in Head and Neck Cancer at Barts. He has edited the book 'Towards the Prevention of Cancer', published in November 2007 by the RSM press and 'Physics For Clinical Oncologists' published by Oxford University Press in 2012.
