Benign skin problems

In addition to treating serious skin problems such as skin cancers, consultant dermatologists and plastic surgeons at The London Clinic also offer treatments for benign (non-cancerous) lesions of the skin.

What are benign lesions?

Benign lesions are any kind of imperfection on the skin surface, such as lumps, bumps and tags, which are not cancerous and do not pose a risk to health.

Benign lesions are different from skin cancers, which are described as malignant. There are many different types of benign lesions, including:

  • Benign moles
  • Cysts
  • Warts

Skin tags (acrochordons) - small harmless growths that hang off the skin and are similar to warts.

Milia (blocked oil glands) - common, benign, cysts filled with keratin
