About our underwater treadmill

The London Clinic offers an underwater, self-propelled treadmill which can enable patients to gently return to walking or jogging following an injury.

The benefits of walking or jogging on an underwater treadmill include:

  • improved  cardiovascular fitness 
  • reduced stress on soft tissues, bones and joints
  • resistance from the water enhancing the strengthening effect of this exercise on muscles 

A physiotherapist will guide you in your aquatic therapy session and in the use of the  treadmill.

What is the benefit of using this treadmill?

Using the underwater treadmill will increase calorie burn.

Jogging on land for 30 minutes will burn around 300 calories, whereas aqua jogging for the same amount of time will burn around 350 calories.
