Professional profile

Dr Tabi Leslie's medical training with the University of London took place at the Royal Free Hospital, Kings College, London, and University College London (UCL), where she also intercalated a First Class Honours BSc in Neurosciences. She went on to specialist training in Dermatology at UCL and Middlesex Hospitals. Since 1996 Dr Leslie has practised as a Consultant Adult and Paediatric Dermatologist in London. In 1990 she gained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and was made Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London) in 2002.
For several years Dr Leslie has specialised in complex cases of urticaria (hives), cutaneous allergy and itch. This is now her special clinical and academic interest at the St John's Institute of Dermatology, St Thomas' Hospital. Dr Leslie is currently involved in writing chapters on the management urticaria and itch for a number of publications. Her review of current knowledge and clinical practice, “Itch” was published in the Medicine journal series in July 2013.

Dr Leslie is committed to teaching medical students, trainees, GPs and nurses, presenting on all aspects of Dermatology. She is a Faculty Member of the Allergy Academy, Kings College, London, and the MSc Allergy Course at Imperial College, St Mary’s Hospital, London, where she lectures in her speciality of urticaria and chronic itch. Dr Leslie is also on the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) Drugs and Therapeutics Guideline Committee, involved with updating the latest BAD guidelines concerning all dermatological issues. At the Royal Society of Medicine Dr Leslie is Honorary Secretary for the Councils of both the Dermatology and the Clinical Immunology and Allergy Sections. She is a Committee Member of the British Society for Medical Dermatology and is involved with All Party Parliamentary Group on Skin.

Personal profile

In her spare time Dr Leslie is a regular spokesperson for the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) and for the British Skin Foundation. She regularly features on a number of educational videos, giving advice on a range of skin problems.
She has recently appeared on the Baby Channel, AskimoTV Expert Interviews, and for Proctor and Gambol and Lancome. Dr Leslie often makes national media contributions, with notable pieces appearing in The Times, The Guardian and Daily Mirror, as well as speaking on BBC Radio 4 Health Matters.
