Our highly trained team of nurses, doctors and healthcare assistants work in conjunction with our on-site dietitian, physiotherapists, pharmacists, complementary therapists, and clinical nurse specialists to provide comprehensive care to our patients and their families.

Complementary therapies for cancer patients

The London Clinic has a holistic approach to cancer care. Complementary therapies are offered to people with cancer alongside treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy under the direction of an oncology-trained lead therapist.

Our complementary therapists work with our patients as a whole, not just the part of the body with the cancer. Reflexology, aromatherapy massage, Reiki sessions and Indian head massage are available to patients on the wards or attending The Duchess of Devonshire Wing chemotherapy day unit. We also have a designated therapy room for outpatients.

Complementary sessions are offered to all patients and everyone receives four free sessions, which can be taken at any point in their treatment or during their recovery. Sessions are charged for after the first four free sessions have been used.

Cancer brings about a huge amount of change into a person’s life. Both the diagnosis and treatment process can have a significant impact on the life of the individual patient,  their family and those around them.

Our team of cancer nurse specalists are here to help and support patients and their families.

Support for friends and family

When someone close to you is diagnosed with cancer, this can be a difficult and emotional time. We welcome visitors into The Duchess of Devonshire Wing to suit individual patients: there are no set visiting hours.

Sometimes patients will need to rest, and you can relax for a while in our comfortable waiting and reception areas. There is also a café on the ground floor where you can buy drinks, snacks and meals.

For relatives and people close to someone who is seriously ill, we can accommodate visitors in the patient’s room at the discretion of the Matron and her team.

We will help to make you as comfortable as possible so that you can remain close and spend time with a parent, partner, child or close friend.
