Professor Paris Tekkis

Professor Paris Tekkis was promoted to Professor of Colorectal Surgery in 2011. He specialises in colorectal, robotic and minimally invasive surgery. Professor Tekkis and his team are internationally known for their work in rectal cancer and restorative surgery for inflammatory bowel disease.

EAR, Nose and throat surgery

Mr Asit Arora

He pioneered Transoral robotic surgery (TORS) in the UK and runs a specialist tertiary referral practice in Airway and Head & Neck Cancer Surgery.

Mr Jonathan Hughes

Jonathan has completed a travelling fellowship to two international centres of excellence in the USA. Memorial Sloan-Kettering is the top cancer hospital in the USA and Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is a pioneering centre for the use of robotic technology in head and neck surgery. During this time he learnt the very latest minimally-invasive techniques used by world leaders in the field.

GENERAL and Gastrointestinal Surgery

Mr Manish Chand

Mr Chand has considerable experience on the Da Vinci Xi and his practise includes cases overseas on the latest generation machine.

Mr Thomas Ind

Mr Ind performed the first Robotic Hysterectomy in the UK in 2007 and has over 650 cases to his name. Mr Ind is the author of numerous academic papers on robotic surgery and a co-editor of the Textbook of Gynaecological Robotic Surgery, Springer, USA.

Professor Keyoumars Ashkan

ROSA robot for cranial applications, brain tumour biopsy and brain tumour surgery.

Mr Ranjeev Bhangoo

ROSA robot for cranial applications, brain biopsy, tumour removal.

Mr Habib Ellamushi

Mr Ellamushi is the lead for minimal access surgery. His expertise includes: cranial surgery, acoustic neuroma, brain surgery, kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty, gamma knife and CyberKnife.

Mr David Cox

Mr Cox undertakes patient specific knee replacements, and has been trained in the use of the robotic surgical arm, and computer navigation to improve alignment.

Professor Ali Ghoz

Professor Ghoz is a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon in hip and knee surgery. He has extensive experience in computer aided/robotic assisted surgery.

Mr Sammy Hanna

Mr Hanna has a specialist interest in computer navigation and robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement surgery.

Mr Arjuna Imbuldeniya

Mr Imbuldeniya uses the NAVIO robot for partial and total knee replacements. Since 2015 Mr Imbuldeniya has utilised robotic and computed navigated surgery. He was one of the first nine surgeons to use the NAVIO in Europe.

Mr Rohit Jain

Mr Jain has received training on the use of Robotic Total Knee Replacement Surgery.

Mr Simon Jennings

I am a global expert in robotic surgery and have extensively used the NAVIO system for partial and total knee replacement surgery for over 3 years.

Mr Dinesh Nathwani

Mr Nathwani has a specialist interest in computer navigated surgery. His areas of expertise include NAVIO handheld robotic knee surgery system. He has has pioneered the use of navigation techniques and implant design and total knee replacements in the UK.

Mr Deepu Sethi

Mr Sethi uses the NAVIO® surgical system for partial and total knee replacements.

Mr Timothy Briggs

Mr Briggs has performed well in excess of over 1000 robotic radical prostatectomies and over 200 laparoscopic radical prostatectomies.

Professor Prokar Dasgupta

Professor of Urology, Professor Dasgupta, pioneered robotic urology in the UK. He led the trial and use of robotic surgery for prostate cancer at The London Clinic, using the da Vinci® back in 2005.

Professor John Kelly

John Kelly performs robotic cystectomy for bladder cancer.  He performs robotic neo-bladder and ileal conduit.  Not all patients are suitable for robotic neo-bladder and approximately 30% of John’s patients select this option.  This compares to the UK national average of 7% across all centres.

John's patients, along with their partners and carers are encouraged to speak to past patients when deciding which option is best for them and, it is usually possible to match new patients with a past patient of similar age and gender.  John has robotic expertise in functional restoration for example nerve spare, intra-fascial and prostate sparing cystectomy in males and vaginal sparing surgery in females.

A major focus is post-operative care for patients and the minimising complications of surgery. John has published on enhanced recovery for cystectomy and outcomes including the survival from cancer and the recovery for patients following surgery are published in detail.

Mr Bijan Khoubehi

Mr Khoubehi is one of the first urologists to perform robotic surgery in the UK. Since 2007, he has been performing prostate and renal surgery. The Daily Mail named Mr Khoubehi as one of the best robotic prostate surgeons in the UK in 2018 and 2010.

Mr Marc E Laniado

Robotic surgeon since 2008: Technique: Retzius-sparing prostatectomy, NeuroSAFE with a suprapubic catheter for better functional recovery, about 100/year.
