Women's Health Physiotherapy

Our treatment sessions are 1:1 so we can focus your individual needs. The sessions may include:

  • Advice and education on how what you can do to help your condition and provide guidance on how to safely return to work and exercise
  • Exercise based rehabilitation
  • Pelvic floor exercises
  • Pilates
  • Manual therapy
  • Electrical stimulation
  • Biofeedback
  • Provision of vaginal devices if indicated

Conditions and Treatments

The team at The London Clinic are highly specialised in treating specific women’s health conditions. The treatments which the team can offer cover:

  • Weak core and pelvic floor muscles as a result of pregnancy, childbirth or surgery
  • Urinary incontinence,  which can include leaking of the bladder when coughing, sneezing, laughing and/or running (stress incontinence) or when you have a sudden urge to empty your bladder but don’t get to the toilet in time (overactive bladder)
  • Needing to go to the toilet excessively during the day or night time
  • Constipation, faecal incontinence or difficulty controlling wind 
  • Heavy/dragging/lump sensation in the vagina which could indicate a possible prolapse
  • Pain related to pregnancy, childbirth and being a new mum, which can result in pelvic girdle pain, low back pain, upper back pain, hand/wrist pain, neck and shoulder pain
  • Rectus diastasis (separation of abdominal muscles following childbirth)
  • Pain during intercourse 
  • Cording and shoulder pain/stiffness following breast cancer surgery
  • Scar tissue following surgery or childbirth
