Aquatic therapy at the London Clinic

hydrotherapy

Aquatic therapy is an evidence-based specialist treatment that utilises the unique properties of water to rehabilitate patients with wide ranging conditions. It is also known as hydrotherapy.

Before starting hydrotherapy, you will have a comprehensive assessment to assess your needs and goals.

The physiotherapist in hydrotherapy will then formulate an individualised exercise programme specific to you.

Hydrotherapy appointments last 30 minutes and are supervised by a qualified chartered physiotherapist. Changing and showering facilities are available onsite.

Located in a comfortable light and airy environment, The London Clinic has one of the UK’s best-located hydrotherapy pools.

Hydrotherapy involves the use of water to rehabilitate a wide range of conditions. The properties of the water temperature, pressure and buoyancy can help improve circulation, reduce weight-bearing stresses and reduce pain.

In addition, we use a wide range of equipment to further enhance your rehabilitation on the water, for example floats, hand paddles, underwater treadmill, fins, etc.

Hydrotherapy can be used to treat the following conditions:

  • Chronic conditions such as ankylosing spondylitis
