The Haematology and stem cell transplant team

The stem cell transplant unit was established in 1985. The unit is a purpose built stem cell transplant/ malignant haematology unit featuring positive pressure ventilation and HEPA filtration.

There are 12 beds in the unit where we treat haematological malignancies. We are the first private hospital to gain JACIE accreditation and have close links with the Anthony Nolan Trust and Bart’s health.

The team is made up of 22 staff members, comprising administrative and clinical staff.  As well as treating acute leukaemias, lymphomas and other malignant haematology, we are also the preferred provider as a stem cell harvesting centre for the Anthony Nolan Trust. We perform autologous matched sibling and matched unrelated donor stem cell transplant which are possible because of our links with the Anthony Nolan Trust and Bart’s health.

The team has a wealth of experience and has presented both oral and poster presentations at international conferences. We are a well-known facility within the stem cell and transplant community. We have SLAs with Bart's Health, Anthony Nolan and Imperial (St Mary’s and Hammersmith).
