Dr Paviour is a Consultant Neurologist with a diverse NHS practice at St George's University Hospital in London and a busy private practice. He graduated in 1998 after training in London, winning the Guy's and St Thomas' Gold Medal. Following medical jobs in London and at the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals and passing his MRCP examinations, he returned to London and completed a PhD at the Institute of Neurology in 2006 before completing specialist Neurology training in London.
Dr Paviour has published peer-reviewed papers in high-quality neurology and general medical journals. Much of his published research is in the field of degenerative movement disorders.
Dr Paviour has expertise in the diagnosis and effective management of patients with a broad range of acute and chronic neurological disorders as well as having a specialist interest in Movement Disorders. He is a member of the International Parkinsons and Movement Disorders Society as well as the American Academy of Neurology and the Associaition of British Neurologists.
Dr. Paviour founded the deep brain stimlation for movement disorders service at St George's with Mr. Pereira and is its clinical service lead. He has experience treating patients with all advanced Parkinson's disease therapies including Duodopa, apormophine pumps and deep brain stimulation for all adult movement disorders using devices from all three major manufacturers.
