MEDICAL RECORD REVIEW

One of our consultants can review a medical history of your diagnosis and provide a written report for you with their opinion on the most appropriate treatment.

MEDICAL RECORDS & IMAGES REVIEW

A consultant will work in conjunction with one of our Radiologists to review both a medical history of your diagnosis and scanned images in order to provide a written report for you with their opinion on the most appropriate treatment.

How the second medical opinion service works

1. Simply complete this online request form. The form allows you to indicate what kind of Second Medical Opinion you are interested in.

2. Within 24 hours, (the following Monday if your request is made on a Friday) one of our Second Medical Opinion Administrators will contact you to let you know further details of the Second Medical Opinion we will be undertaking for you and the consultant who will be providing the service.

3. The applicable payment will be taken from you at this stage.

4. We will email you the completed Second Medical Opinion report via e-mail and post you copy of the report within five working days of you having made the payment.

What is a Second Medical Opinion?

A Second Medical Opinion is where a patient (or their family) asks a doctor not related to their treatment for their opinion on the diagnosis they have been provided with or the treatment proposed for the patient.

What will I need to provide in advance?

You will need to ensure that you provide us with all the medical records relating to your case that you have available.

You will need to ensure that your medical records cover a detailed description of your case including symptoms, diagnosis, mediation and treatments.

If you a require a Medical Records and Images Review - you will need to upload a copy of your images via our electronic form or you can send us a disk containing your images – please call 0203 219 3557 to speak to our team on how to do this.

Can multiple types of images be reviewed?

Only one set of images can be reviewed for the inclusive price shown.  If you have multiple sets of images that need reviewing along with your medical records - please call our team to discuss this on 0203 219 3557.

What happens if the images I have uploaded cannot be accessed for a review and Second Medical Opinion report to be provided?

If your images cannot be accessed or are of too poor a quality, one of our team will contact you and to discuss if the images can be provided via a disc. If no images can be provided, we will refund the cost of the Second Medical Opinion.

Are all conditions suitable for a Second Medical Opinion?

Some conditions are not suitable for a Second Medical Opinion. If you submit your request our expert tem can provide you with guidance on this.

Can I choose who will provide the report?

This will be discussed with you when our Second Medical Opinion Administrator makes contact with you following your request for a Second Medical Opinion.

How can I be assured the report will provide what I need?

You can be assured that the report will provide all the information you need. Our reports are compiled to a pre-determined standard by our world-class consultants.

How long will it take for me to be provided with my report?

You will be provided with your report within five days of making the payment.

What terms and conditions apply to this service?

How do I pay for the service?

You pay for the service by credit or debit card over the telephone with our Second Medical Opinion Administrators.

Will my health insurance cover the cost of a Second Medical Opinion Report?

At the current time most health insurance companies do not cover the costs of Second Medical Opinions, but it is worth checking with your insurance provider as there can be exceptions to this.

I am being sponsored by my embassy for a Second Medical Opinion – how does the payment process work?

If you are a sponsored patient you will need to provide us with a Letter of Guarantee from your embassy that refers to the requirement for your Second Medical Opinion. This needs to be done before your Second Medial Opinion can be arranged.
