Bio

Mr Oddy read medicine at Christ’s College, University of Cambridge qualifying in 1996. Following basic surgical training in London, Mr Oddy read for an MSc at UCL and was awarded a distinction in 2002 with basic science research into tendons and gait. His orthopaedic training on the St Bartholomew’s hospital Percivall Pott rotation included specialist foot and ankle posts in Norwich and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore before completing a foot and ankle fellowship in Sheffield. He has also completed a paediatric fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

Mr Oddy’s practice includes all aspects of elective and trauma foot and ankle surgery including fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, arthritis and deformity including bunion and toe problems. He has an interest in neurological foot problems and is the orthopaedic lead for the diabetic foot service at UCLH.

He was one of the six specialist foot and ankle surgeons serving the London 2012 Olympics.
Mr Oddy is an Honorary Associate Professor in the UCL Division of Surgery and is actively involved in research being part of the Institute of Sports, Exercise and Health National Achilles Tendinopathy centre team and also principal investigator in other grant-funded research into proprioception after limb injury and fracture healing in diabetes.

He is the UCL Medical School Year 4 undergraduate module lead for orthopaedics (Bloomsbury Campus) and is actively involved with direct teaching of UCL medical students as well as lecturing on the UCL / ISEH MSc in Sports, Exercise & Health.
