Mr Marco Adamo, MD is a Consultant Surgeon in Bariatric and Laparoscopic Surgery at the prestigious University College London Hospital (UCLH) where he has worked since 2007.

He graduated in 1995 with full marks and honours in Palermo, Italy, where he also completed his training in general surgery. Since 2000 he has moved to United Kingdom and has dedicated his activity to advanced laparoscopic surgery and laparoscopic bariatric (obesity) surgery.

He has been awarded an MD by Leeds University for his research on appetite hormones and bariatric surgery. He is aMember of the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), British Society for Metabolic and Obesity Surgery (BOMSS), Association of Upper-GI Surgeons (AUGIS) and Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons in UK (ALS) and Italy (SICE).

He is a fully established and experienced laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon with an international reputation and over 10 years experience in laparoscopic gastric bypass, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, gastric banding, and complex bariatric revisional surgery.

He is a pioneer in single incision bariatric surgery having performed the first single incision laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy in UK. He has also a specific interest in laparoscopic hernia surgery and antireflux surgery.

He is a dedicated trainer in laparoscopic bariatric surgery and laparoscopic hernia surgery and often runs advanced training courses for UK and European surgeons.
