Peter Andrews BSc.(Hons), MD, FRCS (ORL-HNS) is the Senior Consultant Surgeon in Rhinology and Facial Plastic Reconstruction at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital and Consultant Anterior Skull Base Surgeon at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He is the Associate Professor of Rhinology at University College London and Academic Lead for Rhinology.

Professional profile

Peter Andrews has over 20 years experience in rhinoplasty surgery and runs a tertiary referral service in rhinology at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital (RNTNEH).

He also runs one of the largest facial reanimation services in the UK and has been an anterior skull base surgeon at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) since 2008.

He trained at UCH and Middlesex Medical School and qualified in 1993. He received his Specialist Higher Surgical Training in the North Thames Deanery which included the RNTNE Hospital. He is a Fellow of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS) and was awarded the EAFPS Joseph Travelling Fellowship in 2005 and trained and worked at the Academic Medical Centre, Amsterdam for 6 months during this time. He was appointed to the RNTNEH in 2005.

His surgical areas of interest include nasal plastic surgery, nasal airway reconstruction, facial reanimation surgery and anterior skull base surgery including complex frontal sinus surgery.

As the Associate Professor of Rhinology at UCL, his research interests include nasal airflow reconstruction, facial reanimation surgery and surgical treatments for the correction of loss of smell. He has recently patented a new medical device which measures and diagnoses nasal disease, in collaboration with the biomedical engineering department at UCL.

He specialises in Aesthetic and Functional Rhinoplasty Surgery as well as Facial Reanimation Surgery. He’s an expert in Sinonasal Disease Management and Complex Endoscopic Sinus Surgery.
