Professional profile

Arjuna Imbuldeniya is a London trained Consultant hip and knee specialist surgeon who uses the latest technology and advances in medicine to provide the best care for his patients.

 Mr Imbuldeniya combines his private practice with his NHS post at The West Middlesex University Hospital in Twickenham, part of the Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust.

Mr Imbuldeniya graduated as a medical doctor in 2001 from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals Medical School, University of London.

Prior to taking up his consultant post, Mr Imbuldeniya undertook international specialist fellowship training for a year at the renowned Mater Hospital in Sydney, Australia, the largest joint replacement centre in the Southern Hemisphere.

In 2018 he was awarded the prestigious ESSKA European Travelling Knee Fellowship where he lived in Barcelona learning the latest stem cell, regenerative and knee preserving surgical techniques from leaders in their field.

Mr Imbuldeniya is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, The British Hip Society, and is on the Executive Committee of The Computer Assisted Orthopedic Society UK and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

He is actively involved in training the next generation of doctors and surgeons on the North West Thames Orthopaedic rotation, lectures GP's in training and Physician Associates at St Georges Hospital Medical School, and is an examiner for final year medical students from Imperial College.

Robotics expertise

Mr Imbuldeniya uses the NAVIO robot for partial and total knee replacements. Since 2015 Mr Imbuldeniya has utilised robotic and computed navigated surgery. He was one of the first nine surgeons to use the NAVIO in Europe.

Hailing from West London he is a long suffering supporter of Brentford FC, and cherishes all of his spare time enjoying every minute with his young children.
