Marta is a pelvic health physiotherapist. She is qualified to help patient's suffering from chronic pelvic pain as well as pelvic floor problems affecting the bladder and bowels, and problems contributing to painful sex. She is also qualified to help women with prolapse and to support women during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and menopause.

Professional profile

Marta qualified as a physiotherapist in Portugal in 2009 and she worked as an MSK and sports physiotherapist in the early years of her professional career. She then moved to the UK to continue her studies and professional development.

She has since done extensive training in Women's Health physiotherapy and she is a member of the POGP (Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy) Network. She completed a post-graduate Diploma in Women's Health Physiotherapy at the University of Bradford and is currently finishing the MSc in this field.

Her dissertation topic is on diastasis recti in the postpartum. Her goal is not only to empower patients and facilitate their journeys recovering and improving their pelvic health, but also to provide a service of excellence in women's and men's health.
