Dr Rebecca Kristeleit is a Consultant Medical Oncologist specialised in the management of Gynaecological Cancer (ovary, endometrium, cervix, vagina, vulva) and Experimental Therapeutics (new drug development).

Professional profile

Rebecca qualified in medicine from St Andrew's and Manchester Universities. As an undergraduate she was awarded an ERASMUS Scholarship to study abroad in Lausanne, Switzerland and completed her elective at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University. 

She trained in Medical Oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital and completed her PhD in clinical pharmacology of HDAC inhibitors at the ICR. Following a Senior Fellowship on the Drug Development Unit at the Royal Marsden she was appointed in 2009 as Clinical Senior Lecturer and subsequently Associate Professor at UCL and Honorary Consultant Medical Oncologist at UCLH. 

In 2020 she moved to Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust to pursue further opportunities in drug development and continues as a Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising in Gynaecological Cancer treatment.

Rebecca has a specialist interest in experimental therapeutics for gynaecological cancer and has been closely involved in several successful new drug applications including rucaparib, lurbinectedin and dostarlimab. She continues to run an extensive portfolio of Phase I-III clinical trials as well as associated translational research and leads many trials both nationally and internationally. She has published extensively and speaks regularly at national and international events.

She is a past Chair of the ASCO Gynaecological Cancer Scientific Committee, BGCS Scientific Committee and has been elected to ESMO Faculty 2021-2025.
