Investment in Patients

The Duchess of Devonshire Wing is the largest private cancer facility to be built in London in the last 25 years and was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in March 2010.

Investment into the eight floors of modern treatment areas ranges from positive pressure bedrooms (an important air flow management system for patients with compromised immune systems) to facilities for complementary therapies and the latest radiotherapy technology.

  • The introduction of the CyberKnife & Trilogy RapidArc robotic radiotherapy systems offering a painless treatment method for a range of cancers and neurosurgical conditions
  • A new hybrid operating theatre which allows complex vascular surgery to be performed with detailed imaging equipment
  • Development of some of the most advanced endoscopy facilities in the independent sector
  • Robotic-assisted technology, helping surgeons to treat a range of conditions so that patients have less pain following surgery and faster recovery times
  • The purpose built pathology laboratory which houses the latest in technology to ensure the most efficient and high quality testing for patients.
  • New theatres and ICU are currently being invested in and built to create a new tranquil environment that promotes wellbeing and maximises the comfort and privacy of our patients

The London Clinic’s stem cell transplant unit was established in 1985 and we are proud to be the only independent hospital to provide bone marrow stem cell collection and a harvesting centre for the Anthony Nolan charity.

The Clinic’s highly skilled medical staff are able to use the state-of-the-art facilities in our Duchess of Devonshire Wing to support the charity in providing life-saving donors for patients in need of bone marrow transplants.

We are also the first independent private hospital in the UK to gain JACIE accreditation in recognition of our quality standards in stem cell work.

The London Clinic and NVMF have teamed up to jointly fund the medical care of patients in need of treatment for conditions, which though not life-threatening, are regarded as significantly impairing their quality of life.
