The Charity supports a dedicated clinical trials unit, the Advanced Therapies Centre (ATC) who provide a phase I and IV clinical trials program. This provides patients with access to treatments through clinical trials with new medicines, medical devices and health technologies. In addition to special access programs approved by the MHRA for early access to specialized clinical procedures, which are often not available elsewhere and drive forward research in these areas for public benefit generally.

The ATC has hosted or sponsored 11 research projects treating 167 patients throughout 2017. The team provide Research Governance, TLC Ethics committee updates and Quality Assurance. Principal Investigator (Consultant) support from study set up, on study management and facilitate collaboration with seven NHS hospitals, universities and charities.

Our trial portfolio extends from advanced medicinal products, derived from stem cell collection, to simple bench top research using tissue and blood samples provided from London Clinic patients to assist medical research for future generations. The ATC have passed various sponsor site audits for compliance to study protocol and Good Clinical Practice (GCP), confirming we met all the regulatory requirements and maintain a high standard of quality in our clinical trials team.
