The hybrid operating theatre for vascular and endovascular surgery was completed in July 2012. It combines a full surgical operating theatre with X-ray and ultrasound imaging equipment normally only available in a radiology department.

The hybrid theatre provides the surgical technology to enable surgeons to switch between open vascular surgery and endovascular surgery as necessary, with full real-time imaging support.

Hybrid technology

Having a hybrid operating theatre combines the equipment and conditions necessary for successful and safe surgery with imaging technology that is essential to endovascular surgery.

A complete range of vascular and endovascular procedures, including those for the most complex conditions, are now being undertaken by experts in the field using these state-of-the-art facilities.
